Instead of velvet robes signifying their transition from lawmakers to impartial magistrates, better to sport red sponge noses with polka dot coats with oversized bowtie.

Unfortunately, self-destruction is not enough. It will take a change in the Constitution to get rid of this bankrupt and unnecessary institution.
