Growth gathers pace across Bulacan’s key towns
As a flourishing province, Bulacan has much to offer in terms of business and residential prospects.
The province is rich not only in local culture and heritage but also in economic opportunities. It has sustained its growth over the last five years and, as of October 2025, remained the largest economy among the provinces in Central Luzon.
Data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) showed that Bulacan posted a gross domestic product (GDP) of P675.52 billion in 2024, up by 7 percent from 2023.
Driving much of this growth are the construction and manufacturing sectors, which accounted for the province’s biggest contributions and shares. Their continued expansion has been supported in part by significant investments in infrastructure.
Gateway to the north
This infrastructure network further strengthens Bulacan’s position as the northern gateway of Metro Manila and a strategic location for investors.
Situated 27.5 kilometers from Metro Manila, the province links the capital region to Central and Northern Luzon. It also provides access to major airports, including Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and Clark International Airport, as well as major seaports like the Port of Manila.
Public-private partnerships
Beyond its strategic location, Bulacan has also cultivated an investor-friendly environment that provides the right conditions for increased economic activity. Strong public-private partnerships and a highly skilled workforce further enhance its appeal as an investment destination.
The same advantages that support business growth also make the province an attractive place to live.
Its favorable peace and order situation, modernized transportation and communication systems, and well-developed infrastructure make Bulacan a reliable location for establishing a residence.
Growing locales
These strengths are evident in several of the province’s municipalities, including Marilao and Bocaue.
Characterized by a mix of agricultural, manufacturing, and commercial activities, Marilao has placed growing emphasis on economic dynamism. Its proximity to Metro Manila has made the municipality a notable destination for both business and leisure, while the MacArthur Highway strengthens its connectivity to the capital and other parts of Luzon.
This accessibility has helped support Marilao’s growing economic activity.
The municipality ranked 11th among first- and second-class municipalities in the 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index. It also placed 12th in economic dynamism and 11th in infrastructure. Reflecting these rankings, Marilao hosts a range of industries, including food processing.
Nearby Bocaue has likewise benefited from greater accessibility and increased economic activity.
This first-class municipality is home to the Philippine Arena, the world’s largest domed indoor arena. The landmark has attracted thousands of visitors in recent years and contributed significantly to businesses in the area.
Continued improvements
Its presence has also encouraged further infrastructure development.
The Ciudad de Victoria project, which houses the Philippine Arena, led to the construction of a North Luzon Expressway interchange and a bypass road, both of which opened in 2019. These projects were designed to improve mobility and accessibility across Bulacan’s road network, particularly in Bocaue and nearby towns.
