BIZ BUZZ: A ‘golden’ year for Century Pacific
Century Pacific Food Inc. (CNPF) has added another feather to its cap after bagging the Gold Award for Best Managed Company in the consumer staples category in the Philippines at FinanceAsia’s Best Companies 2026.
The recognition comes as the food manufacturer behind Century Tuna, 555 and Argentina continues to deliver double-digit growth despite what executive chair Chris Po described as a “perma-crisis” marked by geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions and inflation.
And the numbers help explain the gold.
Over the past five years, CNPF’s revenues grew at a compound annual growth rate of 12 percent, while net income expanded by 13 percent annually.
CNPF is now looking beyond its pantry staples for its next growth engines.
Milk and coconut, along with emerging categories such as pet food, refrigerated food and plant-based alternatives, were among its fastest-growing segments in the first half.
The company is also expanding capacity in its dairy and coconut businesses, with projects expected to generate more than 4,000 manufacturing jobs in Mindanao.
Nearly five decades into the business, CNPF appears keen on proving that even amid a “perma-crisis,” there can still be plenty of room to grow—and perhaps more gold to bring home.
