BIZ BUZZ: BPI shows up, BDO speaks first
Even in banking’s artificial intelligence (AI) chatter, showing up and getting the first word are two different contests.
Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) and BDO Unibank split those bragging rights in local banking answers tested for PRecious Communications’ AI Authority Index.
BPI appeared most widely across consumer, business and trust questions, showing up in 73 percent, 96 percent and 92 percent of answers, respectively.
BDO, meanwhile, topped first mentions across all four tested question groups. It was named first in 75 percent of business banking answers and 64 percent of trust answers. Its consumer banking figure was 31 percent.
That means counting appearances tells only part of the story. Placement—and what the answer actually says—matters, too.
The study does not rank bank quality, safety or financial performance, either.
Bragging rights, perhaps. A chatbot’s seal of approval? That would be reading too much into the answer.
