With big BYD growth, aftersales service grows with it
BYD has rapidly scaled its footprint across key regions, including Metro Manila, Northern and Central Luzon, the Visayas, Mindanao, and Calabarzon.
The brand, ever so relentless, has far surpassed expectations and seems determined to adamantly climb its way to the top.
By August of this year, BYD neared 30,000 unit sales, already garnering twice as much in total than the brand did last year.
Other than its superb products, key to their hurling success is their excellent aftersales services.
Simultaneous with BYD’s growth is its growing “customer-first” aftersales services throughout the country.
BYD’s direction to give equal importance to aftersales is rooted in its commitment to provide its stakeholders with quality and trustworthy vehicles.
BYD aims for owners to experience convenience and ease throughout their ownership journey.
“Efficiency in aftersales service at the dealership really comes down to three things: parts availability, speed, and standardizing our technical skills,” BYD Philippines managing director, Bob Palanca said.
“Our dedicated field service engineers are also supporting the dealers with their technical expertise and coaching,” he added.
“We build trust by keeping our process straightforward and maintaining complete transparency around our standard PMS and parts pricing.”

Mall Taipan invests
“We are committed to providing customers with the complete electric mobility experience, from vehicle sales and dependable aftersales support. With our very spacious and modern facility, we’re providing the best of what BYD can offer,” said Peter Michael Gaisano, Jr., dealer principal of BYD Sta. Rosa, one of the biggest dealerships in the country. It features a 10-car showroom, eight service bays, a customer lounge, and seven EV chargers (consisting of three 30kW DC chargers and four 7kW AC chargers).
“We have several dedicated service bays and are always ready to serve our customers,” Gaisano, Jr. elated as the young executive belongs to the family of mall and retail taipans in the country.
“This is our very first venture into the automotive business and we see BYD as a fast-growing brand,” he continued.
According to him, along with his general manager, Wilfredo Juan Karlo Reyes, they want to position themselves as one of the leading BYD dealerships in South Luzon.
“Our main focus is to bring these vehicles to the people here in the South,” the top honcho said.
He further said that they want to further expand their portfolio and use their retail network to expand BYD,” the mall empire heir said.
“There are a lot of corporate companies that are converting to EVs right now.”
Retail acumen to autos
BYD Sta. Rosa has seen a steady rise in both their monthly units sold and the vehicles they have been servicing.
“It’s been growing since March.”
Other than this, what the dealership is most proud of is being recognized last year by the BYD Headquarters in China by having one of the best aftersales services in the Asian Pacific region.
“We’re the only two dealerships awarded here in the Philippines,” Gaisano, Jr. proudly shared.
“We call it the Greenstone advantage. It’s like the hospitality vibe. When you arrive here at the showroom, whether you are in sales or aftersales, buying new or servicing your vehicle, you feel it. It’s what we do in our malls also, where the customers really feel special.”
Per Gaisano, Jr., one of the key factors of their services is offering shuttle services for customers to nearby malls while waiting for their cars, like Solenad and Paseo.
“This is our commitment. We give our customers the best quality service in terms of periodic maintenance services and other aftersales services.”
Happy customer
One proof of this is their customer, Erika Padilla Cariaso, wife of former PBA star Jeffrey Cariaso, who owns a BYD Atto 3.
“It’s so convenient to schedule an appointment. The service scheduling also is topnotch. I also like affordable PMS and very accommodating personnel,” she said.
She also expressed through her social media the benefits of owning a full electric vehicle.

The gold standard
BYD Balintawak is another dealership they look up to. It was opened in November 2024 and is owned by Richprime Motors, who also runs the Malolos and North Edsa dealerships.
The Balintawak dealership was likewise awarded with one of the best services, not just the country, but the region.
“We are recognized at the recent Dealer of the Year Awards. Also, in the Asia Pacific, we were deemed the gold standard in service excellence,” said dealer principal Lisa Yao.
“We have a very passionate aftersales team on the floor.”
“They are very dedicated and committed to what they do.”
Golden man on the floor
One example of this is Richprime Motors’ service manager, Ric Garcia.
He was one of the few who were recognized during the recent awarding in the individual category.
“I’ve been working in the automotive industry since 2012,” said the 41-year-old service manager, with a wife and two kids.
“Good thing I learned from the leading car companies here. I even trained abroad to reach my level of expertise,” Garcia modestly shared.
“In BYD Balintawak, we have a gold standard and our team always aims for that. That is why perhaps we were recognized for this. We’re very grateful for this.”
80+ dealerships ready to serve, added warehouse and accessible help
There are more than 80 dealerships across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, with new locations continuously opening.
One notable offering is the once-a-year PMS interval. Here, BYD vehicles follow a 20,000 km or 12-month PMS cycle for both in full EV and Super DM-i/ DMO models with five-year published maintenance cost visibility.
Another is a dedicated customer care hotline ((02) 7758-1888) and digital channels provide a single, direct touchpoint for technical inquiries and ownership assistance. Apart from this, BYD owners also enjoy the benefits for 24/7 Roadside Assistance (terms and conditions apply).
More than this, BYD has likewise improved its parts availability.
“To support our growth in the long term, we are rolling out another parts distribution
center, effectively doubling our total warehouse capacity,” Palanca continued.
“Beyond logistics, we are actively expanding our network of servicing dealerships nationwide to fully support all our BYD electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles nationwide.”

3 things
Moreover, during this writer’s interview with these dealership representatives, it was noted that there are three things these dealerships have in common.
It is that they prioritize three things: Customer convenience, quality of products and services and lastly, quality satisfaction. And both always adhere to no less than these. It is just their own gold standard of doing things. That we believe is why they are not just topnotch–but relentless.
This is how they envision themselves this year and the years to come.
