The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) said on Sunday that it is sending key officials to work directly with local governments and partners to accelerate the nationwide implementation of President Marcos’ flagship Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) housing program.

Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar instructed undersecretaries, assistant secretaries and directors to focus on local engagement to sustain the momentum of the 4PH program’s rollout across the Philippines.

“Each official will be assigned to specific areas to closely monitor ongoing projects,” Acuzar said. “This will enable us to focus more on the expeditious implementation of the flagship program throughout the country.”

So far, more than 30 projects are underway, and 195 local governments have expressed intent to participate. The DHSUD is also engaging national agencies, private developers and banks. Key shelter agencies like the Home Development Mutual Fund, or Pag-Ibig Fund, have started processing loans for 4PH project contractors. —RUSSEL LORETO
