New energy vehicles at MIAS

Avatar

The Philippines has, in recent years, seen a massive interest surge towards hybrids and EVs alike, hardly a surprising trend when one considers the benefits that come with a hybrid or EV. Exemptions from coding and the removal of rapidly increasing fuel prices from the equation are nothing to scoff at, and rapid acceleration and smooth cruising are desirable, too.

The Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), the Philippines’ largest annual motoring event, will be showcasing numerous hybrids and EVs at two world-class venues: the World Trade Center, Metro Manila, and SMX Convention Center Manila (at SM Mall of Asia complex).

Nissan Ariya

The Nissan Ariya, Nissan’s most advanced electrified SUV, will be making its debut at MIAS at the World Trade Center. The Ariya – Nissan’s first all-electric crossover SUV – offers powerful acceleration and quiet operation, as well as an interior with a welcoming, lounge-like atmosphere. And with an estimated range of up to 610 kilometers, the Ariya is the perfect partner for daily commutes and road trips alike.. Finally, in conjunction with the implementation of all-new advanced technologies creating a smoother ride, the Nissan Ariya also features e-Pedal which allows the driver to launch, accelerate and decelerate down to a stop by using only the accelerator pedal.

In addition to the Ariya, Nissan’s lineup includes the equally enthralling Kicks e-Power. e-POWER is a 100% electric motor-driven system that delivers a highly satisfying electric vehicle-esqe experience. The Kicks makes full use of an electric motor that provides power to the wheels and a gasoline engine to charge the battery of the electric motor, all while bringing 22km/liter of gasoline and 280Nm of torque to the table.

Hyundai IONIQ 5 N Charges On With 2024 World Performance Car Award Victory

The award-winning Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 will also be at the Hyundai booth at the World Trade Center. The ever-popular all-electric compact crossover and sedan respectively continue to present themselves as excellent EV options, with their distinctive minimalistic designs and homely interiors. Both IONIQ models offer impressively adept charging speeds on top of these unique traits, with both IONIQ models capable of charging from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 18 minutes with a 350kW charger.

Chery Auto Philippines will feature new energy vehicles at MIAS, including two plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV): the Tiggo 7 PHEV and Tiggo 8 PHEV. The new eQ7, the brand’s full-electric vehicle will also be at the Chery booth at the World Trade Center. Chery will be offering test drives of its vehicles, so visitors can feel for themselves the power and efficiency of the Chery lineup. Another highlight for the brand will be a visit by the Chery Tiggo Crossovers volleyball team on April 6, for an interactive fan experience.

BAIC (Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co. Ltd.)

The 7-seater BAIC B60 Beaumont SUV will be the first in the market to have a 2.0L diesel hybrid powertrain in conjunction to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Other features include 9 drive modes and a full array of ADAS features, to ensure optimal performance on all kinds of terrain. The SUV does not disappoint in terms of interior features either, with four-screen infotainment integration and a panoramic electric sunroof, to name a few. Visitors will also be able to test drive the various BAIC vehicles at the UAAGI Performance Center.

EV carmaker and tech giant Seres International Company will launch its brand under QSJ Motors, Philippines. The Seres 3 battery-electric vehicle (BEV) is a compact electric vehicle that can serve as an affordable and easy-to-use entry point to electric mobility. The Seres 5 will be available in both BEV and extended-range electric vehicle variants (EVR). The Seres 5 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) combines an electric powertrain with internal combustion power to provide flexibility and extended range. The Seres 7 EVR debuts as a premium crossover with a spacious and comfortable interior. The brand’s flagship vehicle is the Seres 9 EVR. Seres will debut at MIAS at the SMX Convention Center.
