Commander in chief gives P 80M to hospital
President Marcos on Thursday vowed to bring health care and medical services closer to the people as he turned over P80.9 million for a military hospital in Zamboanga City.
The President visited a newly constructed two-storey building of the Camp Navarro General Hospital after distributing financial aid to those affected by El Niño in the province.
“We further improved and brought medical services closer to our soldiers and countrymen in Western Mindanao!” Mr. Marcos said in posts on his Facebook and Instagram accounts.
The Camp Navarro General Hospital is the Western Mindanao Command’s medical facility and is an infirmary-level hospital.
It offers medical, surgical and pediatric care to soldiers and their dependents as well as civilians in Western Mindanao.
The President turned over a P80.9 million check from his office to the hospital chief, Lt. Col. Giovanni Falcatan, who guided the Chief Executive in inspecting the new facility.
In a statement, the Presidential Communications Office said the money will be used to buy equipment for the hospital’s operating room, diagnostics facility, wards, physical therapy, etc.
The new building has a capacity of 120 beds and will be a boost in delivering critical medical services and support for the military and civilians in Zamboanga City, and will also support the operations of Camp Teodulfo Bautista Station Hospital in Jolo, Sulu.
The Commander in Chief made the donations as he visited local governments in El Niño-hit Mindanao and distributed on Friday a total of P110 million in cash assistance to General Santos, South Cotabato, and Sarangani province.
