Agri firm Superseed registers with Peza

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (Peza) on Friday said it signed a registration agreement with agricultural distribution firm Superseed Agriculture Corporation (SAC) for its upcoming facility in Laguna.
The agreement formalizes the operation of SAC as a Peza-registered Ecozone Domestic Market Enterprise at the Greenfield Automotive Park–Special Economic Zone in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
The deal was signed last June 3 by Peza Director General Tereso Panga and SAC president Natalie Uy.
“We look forward to seeing our local producers become exporters, and we fully support efforts that empower our local farmers,” Panga said in a statement.
According to the investment promotion agency, the facility, which will process various high-demand nuts, seeds and related products, is set to begin commercial operations this year.
The company has committed over P6 million in investments for new equipment, with projected sales expected to reach P72 million in the first year, Peza said.
The company is fully Filipino-owned.
Panga said agricultural businesses focused on modernizing operations, improving product quality and connecting to global value chains have Peza’s full support.
Investors in Peza’s economic zones benefit from various fiscal and nonfiscal incentives, such as income tax holidays, reduced corporate tax rates and additional deductions, among other advantages.
From January to May, Peza-approved investments soared by 80 percent, climbing to P66.34 billion from P36.827 billion in the same period last year.
