Arthaland keeps projects on track

Emmanuel John Abris

Arthaland Corp. said it remains on schedule with its pipeline of project launches this year, even as global disruptions continue to weigh on construction costs and supply chains.

Oliver Chan, executive vice president and chief sustainability officer at Arthaland, said the company had already rolled out some developments earlier this year, and more launches are lined up in the coming months.

“For this year, we’re launching the Una tower in Laguna, and then the fourth quarter of this year will be the first tower of the estate in Cebu,” Chan said in an interview.

He said Arthaland had also introduced its Makati project, Sondris, which continues to post healthy demand.

In the first quarter alone, the company booked about P1.7 billion to P1.8 billion in sales for the development.

Chan said strong take-up was driven largely by location advantages, including proximity to the Greenbelt commercial complex and unobstructed views in the surrounding low-rise neighborhoods.

Despite rising costs of key materials such as steel, Chan said Arthaland had managed risks by locking in prices with suppliers early on and building buffers into its cost assumptions.

He said construction expenses were manageable given the company’s diversified cost structure.

“We didn’t know there was going to be a war, but last year we started working on how to provide better material finishes, we locked in some prices for three to five years,” he said.

The company secured supply agreements for key finishing materials, including partnerships with regional brands, helping shield projects from volatility in global supply chains.
