Asia Brewery riding the energy drinks boom
Tycoon Lucio Tan-led Asia Brewery Inc. plans to expand its lineup of Cobra energy drink products amid the continued recovery of local product sales following the reopening of the economy.
Asia Brewery Inc. senior brand manager Rhenz Villanueva told the Inquirer last week about plans to introduce new variants of the popular energy drink. It currently has three to date.
“We continue to see growth for the product. We saw recovery once the pandemic restrictions were eased,” he said.
Villanueva pointed to more people getting back to work as the reason for increased demand for energy drink.
The original variant of the Cobra energy drink is the most sold variant to date. It also comes in citrus and berry flavor.
Cobra has manufacturing facilities in Laguna and Pampanga, as well as in Mindanao.
Cobra has also supported the “Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers” program of the Department of Labor and Employment.
