BIZ BUZZ: Love gets more PlayTime
PlayTime Entertainment is widening its presence in local show business by joining ABS-CBN Studios as a co-producer of the fourth season of “Sparks Camp.”
The program, billed as the Philippines’ first queer dating reality show, brings together a new batch of campers searching for romance and meaningful connections.
The deal builds on PlayTime’s partnership with streaming platform iWant, which began with the vertical drama series “Will You Fake Marry Me?”
PlayTime spokesperson Adela Marshall said the collaboration formed part of the company’s push to develop longer-term entertainment partnerships while supporting stories about equality and authentic representation.
For its latest season, “Sparks Camp” has added new twists to help its campers get closer.
Among these is “Momolan,” a private area where participants can step away from the group, sort through their emotions and speak more openly.
Off-island excursions have also been introduced to give the campers more opportunities to deepen their connections.
Ted Boborol returns as director, while Mela Habijan reprises her role as the show’s “Mother Sparker.”
Beyond television and streaming content, PlayTime operates across talent management, sports entertainment and platform development—apparently leaving enough room for a few sparks to fly.
