BIZ BUZZ: BSP keeps counters open on Fridays
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is keeping its doors open on Fridays, even as it aligns with government efforts to cut energy use.
Cash operations at the BSP’s head office in Manila, the Security Plant Complex in Quezon City, and its regional offices and branches nationwide will continue from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Onsite services tied to BSP-acquired real properties, along with the receipt of physical mails and documents, will likewise remain available at the BSP Hub in Manila on Fridays.
Digital channels will stay fully operational, with the BSP Online Buddy chatbot accessible 24/7 via the BSP website, Facebook Messenger, and mobile app for consumer complaints involving BSP-supervised institutions. Complaints may also be sent via email to consumeraffairs@bsp.gov.ph.
The BSP Store will continue to accommodate purchases of commemorative coins and other merchandise through its online platform.
The move comes as the government implements energy-saving measures, including flexible or compressed work arrangements such as a four-day workweek to help reduce power consumption.
Overall, the BSP’s setup reflects a balance between maintaining uninterrupted public service and supporting broader state-led conservation efforts.
