BIZ BUZZ: Gas up, and save money?

As fuel prices continue to rise, with only teeny-weeny rollbacks, customers of Gotianun-led bank EastWest Banking Corp. and Unioil are in for a treat this year.

Both firms have renewed their partnership this 2025, giving the latter’s credit cardholders fuel savings of up to P4 per liter when they tank up at select Unioil stations nationwide.

The fuel discounts would run year-round.

“Over the years, our collaboration has proven to be strong and mutually beneficial, enabling us to expand our reach and enhance the customer experience,” said Raymond See, vice president for Retail at Unioil.

“This partnership allows us to help our cardholders make practical choices that align with their needs. It’s about delivering rewards that make their everyday journeys smoother, more economical, and ultimately more rewarding,” added Lawrence Lee, EastWest Bank’s head of Consumer Lending.

Unioil has over 160 retail stations across the country.
