BIZ BUZZ: InLife goes green with ACEN
More corporate hubs are getting a clean energy upgrade.
Ayala-led ACEN Corp. is emerging as a top choice for this switch, with Insular Life (InLife) as the latest to go 100 percent green for its headquarters in Makati City and Alabang in Muntinlupa.
InLife, claimed to be the largest Filipino life insurer, said the transition would not only trim its power costs but also support its long-term sustainability strategy.
Tony Valdez, senior vice president for Market Transformation and Retail at ACEN, said the new supply deal with InLife shows “the increasing consciousness of businesses” to reduce their environmental footprint.
Just last week, the listed renewable energy producer said it had also clinched a power supply agreement for the Philippine Axa Life Center, a 28-story office hub in the Makati Central Business District.
This was made possible thanks to the Green Energy Option Program (GEOP), a government program that allows customers consuming an average peak demand of 100 kilowatts to secure their power from renewable energy.
ACEN continues leading the race for green power clients, with 57 percent market share.
