BIZ BUZZ: PAL ‘second favorite’ airline in region

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has earned new wings, bagging the status as the second most favorite airline in the region.
This was based on the recently concluded 2025 Flyers’ Choice Awards by AirlineRatings.com, a known aviation rating agency, collected from thousands of verified votes.
Still on cloud nine, its president Richard Nuttall thanks PAL’s loyal flyers for the recognition, saying this “reflects the trust and satisfaction that all of us in Philippine Airlines strive to earn from our passengers…”
This came just months after PAL gained the Best Travel Brand award in the Philippines, and second in Southeast Asia.
Keeping a strong passenger volume, PAL ended the first half with a 12-percent increase in its bottom line. It said earnings reached $137 million from $122 million.
Overall, PAL mounted 57,598 flights in the January to June period, carrying 8.47 million travelers.
