BIZ BUZZ: PDIC warns public vs fake official receipts

The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. (PDIC) has warned the public against the use of fake official receipts (ORs) on payments purportedly made in connection with transactions involving closed banks under liquidation.
The fake ORs were found to bear the old PDIC logo, contain misspellings, falsified signature/s of PDIC personnel, and generally inconsistent with the standard format of authentic PDIC-issued ORs, PDIC said in a statement.
The PDIC reiterated that the PDIC logo has been officially changed since June 2018 and now features a more prominent PDIC.The PDIC reminded the public to transact only with PDIC-authorized personnel at the PDIC office located at PDIC Chino Building, 2228 Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City 1233.
The public was encouraged to exercise vigilance and verify the authenticity of all PDIC-related documents for their transactions.
