BIZ BUZZ: RLC gallops into lobby revamp
Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) is clearly leaning into symbolism this year—and it’s doing so with a flourish worthy of the Year of the Horse.
The office development and leasing arm of the property giant recently unveiled a reimagined lobby at Cyberscape Alpha in Ortigas, framing the refresh as a nod to leadership, strength and forward momentum—traits long associated with the zodiac animal.
Timing, according to RLC president and CEO Mybelle V. Aragon-GoBio, was intentional.
“The timing is intentional: the launch aligns with the Year of the Horse, a year of leadership, strength and momentum,” Aragon-GoBio said.
Dubbed “the mane event,” the launch gathered RLC executives alongside officials of JG Summit Holdings, underscoring the company’s push to elevate workplace environments even within existing properties.
For Robinsons Offices senior vice president and general manager Jericho Go, growth is not just about building new towers, but about adapting spaces to meet the evolving needs of today’s professionals.
Cyberscape Alpha, a 26-storey Philippine Economic Zone Authority-registered and EDGE-certified development owned by RL Commercial REIT Inc., anchors Robinsons Offices’ presence in Pasig. The building—strategically located near Robinsons Galleria and key transport hubs—serves as the headquarters of RLC and houses a mix of corporate and business process outsourcing tenants.
The revamped lobby swaps pure functionality for statement-making design. Horses appear throughout the space—from curated art pieces to a sculptural lamp—mirroring qualities the company wants the workplace to embody: power, leadership and momentum. Seven horse figures line a pathway connecting the building’s two lobbies, symbolizing the seven business units of RLC.
Premiumization sits at the heart of the redesign. Vertical lines, reflective surfaces and layered lighting create a sense of openness, while high-quality finishes aim to deliver a sophisticated, modern feel. Plush seating and Café Summit add a social dimension, offering visitors a place to pause before or after the workday.
Behind the aesthetic is what Go calls the “5 Ms,” a Filipino-inspired mantra guiding maintenance and management: maliwanag (well-lit), malinis (clean), mabango (pleasant-smelling), malamig (comfortably cool) and maalaga (caring). Together, these pillars are meant to ensure guests feel welcomed and secure the moment they step inside.
Up on the roof deck, meanwhile, Cyberscape Alpha hosts Robinsons Offices’ first sky farm—a hydroponics facility that uses recycled water to grow fresh greens, cut carbon emissions linked to transport and help soften the urban heat effect.
The lobby refresh comes as Robinsons Land marks its 45th anniversary, signaling that even after decades of expansion across 12 cities and 34 office buildings, the developer is still betting on thoughtful design, sustainability and people-centric spaces to keep its workplaces ahead of the pack.
