BIZ BUZZ: Robinsons plays the long game
Looks like Robinsons Land is taking its “live-work-play” strategy beyond malls and offices.
The property developer has rolled out Robinsons Sports and Leisure (RSL), a new business unit that will oversee its growing portfolio of sports, leisure and entertainment ventures while backing grassroots athletic programs.
One of its first high-profile initiatives is supporting the Leyte Association of Organized Sports Football Club, whose boys’ and girls’ teams will compete in the Norway Cup 2026 in Oslo.
Robinsons Land said it has been helping the club with funding for uniforms, training, travel, equipment and other logistical needs, with the support now folded under the RSL banner.
The move signals that Robinsons is looking beyond traditional real estate, betting that sports and recreation can become another way to draw communities into its developments.
The company is also expanding its sports infrastructure, with the Helios Pickleball Center rising in Bridgetowne, Pasig City.
The eight-story facility, being developed with Kosmas Athletic Ventures Corp., will feature tournament-grade courts alongside retail and dining spaces.
For Robinsons, nurturing young athletes may be only part of the game plan. The bigger play appears to be weaving sports and leisure into its destination estates, giving Filipinos more reasons to visit—and stay.
