BIZ BUZZ: Stern warning for NFA staff

The National Food Authority (NFA) has issued a stern warning against erring staff: it will stop at nothing to put an end to corruption and other illegal activities within the grains agency.
“Stern WARNING. NFA is not your playground. Hindi natin palalampasin ang mga katiwalian sa NFA (We will not tolerate corruption in the NFA),” NFA Administrator Larry Lacson said in a Facebook post.
Lacson warned that more NFA personnel will be penalized or suspended as long as corruption practices do not stop.
Since he assumed the NFA leadership last year, the agency has issued 25 preventive suspensions, filed 32 administrative cases, and issued 54 show-cause orders, while six investigations are pending.
Indeed, the day of reckoning has come upon the agency, especially in light of allegations that arose under the previous leadership last year.
