BIZ BUZZ: Year of the Fire Horse better for PH?

If you’re in the computers, electronics, solar, petroleum, online and entertainment businesses, then yes, you should be “prosperous” this Year of the Fire Horse, even as the Philippines’ economic situation is not expected to fully recover until 2028.

That’s according to feng shui master Joseph Chau, who recently shared his 2026 predictions at the award-winning Marco Polo Ortigas Manila.

Chau also said that those in construction and real estate are in for “better prospects” this year after a bruising 2025.

On the other hand, those in education, garments, fashion and furniture will have a “moderate” year while the ones in tourism, hotels, trading, logistics and transportation have to brace themselves for “many competitions and challenges,” thus should be ready to quickly adjust to headwinds.

Moving on to the zodiac signs, roosters like Pres. Marcos will have “relatively weak” luck this year due to the presence of “unlucky stars”, thus work progress “may be filled with complications.”

“They should adopt the strategy of ‘observe carefully and act accordingly’ in order to turn setbacks into success,” Chau said.

Vice President Sara Duterte will not be that much luckier even if she is a Horse, as the stars show that there will be “stress and emotional imbalance in the workplace.”

But at the same time, Chau said that Horses have “excellent opportunities to pursue their goals and succeed” this year.
