BIZ BUZZ: CCPI shines spotlight on Ukraine

The Chamber of Commerce of the Philippine Islands (CCPI), the country’s oldest business institution at 139 years old, shone the spotlight on the embattled nation of Ukraine last week as part of its continuing role in fostering international dialog.

During the special forum held at the Chamber’s heritage building in Intramuros, Ukraine Ambassador Yuliia Fediv expressed her gratitude to the Philippines and Pres. Marcos for their continuing support for Ukraine.

Fediv said during the forum that gathered Chamber members, business leaders and members of the academe that it was “better to be overprepared rather than underprepared, better to be strong and confident and to have partners and allies – while also relying on yourself.”

Fediv also emphasized Ukraine’s journey, challenges, and aspirations for peace and development, highlighting opportunities for strengthened relations with the Philippines and the broader business community.

To provide Filipinos with a better idea of Ukraine, the Chamber is hosting a special exhibition on Ukraine’s history at the Chamber’s headquarters. This will be open to the public until tomorrow, September 2.

CCPI President Jose Luis U. Yulo Jr. characterized the forum as an expression of the Chamber’s heritage of “advocacy for business and economic development, this time between the Philippines and Ukraine.”
