BIZ BUZZ: Jollibee’s Vietnam ace

Emmanuel John Abris

Fast-food giant Jollibee Foods Corp. (JFC) seems to have found another caffeine winner—this time in Vietnam.

Highlands Coffee, part of its Coffee & Tea portfolio, posted high double-digit revenue growth in 2025, underscoring strong demand for its cafe model.

The momentum spilled into 2026, with same-store sales growth hitting high single digits in the first quarter—no small feat in a crowded coffee market.

What’s brewing behind the numbers? Management points to “best-in-class” store-level profitability, driven by disciplined cost management and efficient operations.

The largely company-owned network allows tighter control of standards and margins—something the group is banking on as it scales further.

Its digital presence is also pulling its weight, with most online orders coursed through third-party platforms, while the brand’s own app gains traction.
