BIZ BUZZ: Megaworld’s workplace win

Emmanuel John Abris

In an industry known more for concrete than culture, Andrew Tan-led Megaworld Corp. is flexing a different kind of foundation.

The township builder has landed on the Philippines’ “Best Workplaces” list for 2026—standing out as the only real estate firm to make the cut.

“Our vision has always been to uplift lives, impact society and help shape the nation, and it is our people who help us bring it into reality as we build sustainable communities that serve as catalysts for growth across the country,” said Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso, president and CEO of Megaworld.

For Megaworld, the recognition adds to a growing list of global nods, from TIME Magazine to Fortune rankings. The message: Building offices is one thing; building workplaces is another.

And in a sector where projects rise and fall with execution, people may be the ultimate differentiator.

Because in today’s market, the real premium isn’t just location—it’s culture.
