Emmanuel John Abris

Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (Metrobank) has claimed the top spot among Philippine banks and securities firms in both the local currency bonds and G3 bonds categories of The Asset Benchmark Research Awards 2026.

The wins cover its work in peso-denominated debt and bonds issued in major global currencies.

Several Metrobank Trust professionals also earned individual distinctions.

Investment execution officers Ivy May Mamauag and Mia Santiago secured the two highest individual rankings in the Best in Trading category for G3 Bonds.

The pair, along with fellow investment execution officer Seth Gamboa, also received recognition in the trading category for local currency bonds.

Ginny Pecaña, head of the investment services division, was named among the Philippines’ Most Astute Investors for local currency bonds.

Metrobank financial markets sector head Toto Tansingco credited the bank’s employees and customers for the results.

“We are on a mission to set higher standards of professionalism and integrity,” Tansingco said.
