BIZ BUZZ: Nissan PH gets new chief

Logan Kal-El M. Zapanta

Nissan Philippines is getting a new driver.

Yoshinori Kanazawa will take over as president effective April 1, leading the country’s fifth-largest car brand as it navigates shifting consumer demand.

Kanazawa brings more than two decades of experience at Nissan. Most recently, he oversaw the company’s importer business across Southeast Asia.

He has also held leadership roles across Japan, China and other international markets, with a background spanning corporate planning, product planning and dealer network development.

Prior to his latest role, Kanazawa held senior positions within Nissan China and its joint ventures, where he was involved in strategic planning and dealer network expansion.

He replaces Masao Tsutsumi, who has been appointed president of Nissan Asean and Thailand.
