BOI logs P900-B investments

The Board of Investments (BOI) edged closer to achieving its full-year investment approval target of P1 trillion after clearing P900.06 billion worth of projects in the first nine months of the year, driven largely by domestic investors and renewable energy ventures.

That investment pipeline covers 207 projects that are expected to generate 21,524 jobs.

The amount marks a 53-percent increase from the investments approved by the BOI in the first three quarters of 2025. It also puts the agency at 90 percent of its full-year target, with three months remaining in 2026.

“The surge in investment approvals recorded during the first nine months of 2026 reflects growing investor interest in the Philippines as a premier destination for growth and expansion,” said Trade Secretary Cristina Roque, who chairs the BOI.

The BOI’s P1-trillion target for 2026 is lower than its P1.75-trillion goal in 2025. It is also a step down from the P1.56 trillion in approvals recorded last year.

As in previous years, the BOI’s investment pipeline remained heavily concentrated in major hydropower, wind, solar and other energy projects.

A chunk of the investments approved by the BOI will be located in the Cordillera Administrative Region, followed by the Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Eastern Visayas, Calabarzon and Metro Manila.
