bXTRA pushes for presence outside NCR

BeepXtra Philippines Inc., the firm behind the bXTRA payment app , is looking at widening its reach outside the National Capital Region, as it unveiled an expanded customer loyalty and cashback ecosystem.

In a talk with journalists, bXTRA president and managing director Jan Vincent Mercado said areas for expansion include Bulacan, Cebu, Boracay and Cagayan de Oro.

“We’re expanding very quickly, and we’re concentrating on increasing more stores in Mandaluyong, San Juan, Makati, Taguig, Pasig, Quezon City and Manila,” Mercado said.

The target is to launch its unified digital platform in these areas within the year, according to Mercado. He added that discussions with some hotels are ongoing to expand their offering to customers.

At present, their mobile application is available in parts of Mandaluyong, Pasig and Manila — all in Metro Manila — as well as Bacolod City in the Visayas.

Launched in 2018, the digital platform has 82 active stores and more than 68,000 users as of writing.

The mobile app offers customer loyalty rewards via cashback and free delivery within the 10-kilometer radius, along with a vast selection of goods and foods services.

Recently, bXTRA added new features such as QR-based loyalty system, Pasuyo (a personal shopping service), food delivery, online bookings, merchant support tools and the pioneering “Trash to Cashback” program that links sustainability with everyday consumer incentives.

“It’s a community-driven loyalty program… This is one of the things to make our platform more accessible to MSMEs (micro, small and medium Enterprises),” Mercado added.
