Cebu Pacific ramps up A330neo operations

Budget airline Cebu Pacific will expand the operations of its A330neo (new engine option) aircraft as it expects an increase in passenger volume for its domestic routes during the “ber” months.

In a statement on Thursday, the air carrier said its A330neo aircraft, which can carry 459 passengers, would start flying seven times weekly between Manila and Iloilo by Oct. 26.

The Manila and Puerto Princesa route will likewise increase to four times weekly beginning Nov. 2.

The aircraft will also fly the Manila-Bohol route seven times weekly starting Nov. 16.

“We’re excited to expand our A330neo operations to more Philippine destinations, as this allows us to offer more seats, lower fares, and an even more comfortable travel experience for our passengers,” said Xander Lao, president and chief commercial officer of Cebu Pacific.

“By increasing capacity to key domestic routes, we not only make travel more accessible, but also help drive tourism and stimulate economic activity, creating opportunities for local communities and further supporting the growth of Philippine tourism,” he added.

Its A330neo flights currently serve Cebu, Davao and General Santos, as well as several international destinations across Asia, Australia and the United Arab Emirates.

With 12 A330neo under its wing, the company is the largest operator of the aircraft in Asia Pacific. Just in July, Cebu Pacific became the first local carrier to operate a 100-strong fleet.

Its overall network caters to 37 domestic and 26 international destinations.
