The export promotion arm of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) generated more than $740 million in export deals in 2025, far exceeding its annual target despite a volatile international market.

Preliminary data from the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (Citem) showed potential export sales from 2025 commitments reaching $740.75 million, nearly eight times higher than its initial target of $95.75 million.

The center also surpassed its outreach target, assisting 1,384 local enterprises in 2025, well above its initial target of 1,034.

Citem cited its signature events, such as IFEX Philippines, a food trade show and Manila FAME, a lifestyle and design event, as key revenue drivers, alongside Philippine participation in trade fairs and missions.

These initiatives also boosted buyer engagement in 2025, with Citem attracting 7,191 trade buyers, nearly double its target of 3,865.

Trade inquiries climbed to 34,403, more than four times higher than the center’s goal of 8,195.

“Citem’s achievements are proof that regardless of the volatility of the global market, the appeal of and demand for Filipino creativity and craftsmanship remain strong,” said Citem executive director Leah Ocampo.

According to the center, the creative sector also recorded strong gains in 2025, supported by CREATEPhilippines, one of its industry brands.
