Converge defies telco slump with 9.6% profit growth
Converge ICT Solutions Inc. registered a 9.6-percent increase in its bottom line in 2025, as sustained growth in the residential fiber business and the expanding enterprise segment helped defy softer earnings across other telco players.
In a disclosure on Monday, the fiber internet provider said its net income had risen to P11.9 billion in 2025, from P10.8 billion the previous year, while consolidated revenues climbed 10.2 percent to P44.8 billion.
Looking ahead, the company expects consolidated revenues to grow 8 percent to 10 percent in 2026, supported by continued demand for broadband connectivity and further expansion into underserved markets.
“With the company’s trajectory and the industry’s broad underserved market, the company’s well-engineered products are well-positioned to capitalize on this growth potential,” the telco firm said.
Converge expects its capital expenditures to reach P18 billion to P23 billion this year, from P17.7 billion last year.
This amount will support plans, such as the deployment of about 900,000 additional fiber ports, most of which will be rolled out in Visayas and Mindanao, as part of efforts to broaden coverage and improve network resilience.
In 2025, residential services remained the largest contributor to revenues, generating P37.3 billion, up 8.4 percent.
Converge ended the year with 2.98 million residential subscribers, adding more than 428,000 fiber customers during the period as the company continued expanding its network footprint.
Enterprise revenues grew at a faster pace, rising 20.3 percent to P7.4 billion from the previous year.
Cash flow, as measured by earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, increased 10 percent to P27 billion, translating to a margin of 60.4 percent.
Return on invested capital stood at 17.7 percent, reflecting what it said was a “disciplined approach in deploying capital to expand its fiber network and improve its overall services.”
As it stands, Converge is the only operator to post profit growth in 2025. Long-time telco operator PLDT Inc. saw its bottom line decline 7 percent to P30 billion, while rival Globe Telecom Inc. reported a 4.12-percent drop in profit to P23.3 billion.
