Converge to deploy 1M network ports with P23-B capex
Converge ICT Solutions Inc. plans to roll out nearly a million additional network ports in 2026. This effort is backed by a P23-billion capital expenditure (capex) program aimed at expanding its fiber footprint nationwide.
Converge’s capex marks a 30-percent increase from the P17.7 billion it spent in 2025.
This investment will fund continued fiber rollout to new cities and towns while reinforcing existing infrastructure through “network hardening.” This includes building redundancy routes to improve reliability.
“We are investing heavily in our network expansion as we push harder for visibility in the Visayas and Mindanao,” company CEO Dennis Antony Uy said.
Among the regions set to benefit from the new rollout are Western Visayas and Northern Mindanao. There, more than 100,000 ports will be made ready for service this year.
Capiz, Samar, Bukidnon, Davao de Oro and Sultan Kudarat are among the locations targeted for new deployments.
At the same time, Uy said the company is ramping up its enterprise segment as demand grows for connectivity and digital solutions among businesses of all sizes.
3M subscibers
Converge ended 2025 with nearly 3 million residential subscribers, while its nationwide port capacity reached 9.2 million.
The firm said its infrastructure now covers roughly 66 percent of homes passed across the country.
However, only 37 percent of those ports are currently in use. This suggests room for subscriber growth as the company expands its network footprint.
Uy said demand for its fiber offerings remains strong, citing continued uptake of its flagship FiberX plans, the lower-cost postpaid BIDA service and its prepaid internet brand Surf2Sawa.
Converge reported a 10.2 percent revenue growth in 2025 to P44.8 billion. Net income rose 9.6 percent to P11.9 billion.
The company is the only Philippine telco to post profit growth in 2025.
Rival PLDT Inc. saw its bottom line decline 7 percent to P30 billion. Meanwhile, Globe Telecom Inc. reported a 4.12-percent drop in profit to P23.3 billion.
