DigiPlus sets up new hub in Singapore

After its debut in the Brazil market, digital entertainment platform DigiPlus Interactive Corp. is keen on expanding its geographical reach further and forging “strategic alliances” by establishing a Singapore-based unit.
In a stock exchange disclosure on Wednesday, the Eusebio Tanco-led company said its board of directors had approved the creation of DigiPlus Global Pte. Ltd., which would be incorporated in Singapore, which has the highest gross domestic product per capita in Southeast Asia.
According to the listed firm, DigiPlus Global will serve as a “support function center” and regional hub dedicated to strategic partnerships, talent acquisition and international growth.
It will be wholly owned by subsidiary Diginvest Holdings Inc.
“Singapore is a world-class hub for business, technology and talent, making it an ideal base for our global initiatives,” DigiPlus chair Tanco said in a statement.
“With the incorporation of DigiPlus Global, we are strengthening our ability to attract top-tier professionals, forge strategic alliances and enhance our international presence, all while remaining deeply committed to our home market in the Philippines,” Tanco added.
Federal license
This comes after DigiPlus officially made its entry into the Brazil online gaming market in January.
DigiPlus’ federal license allows it to operate sports betting and other online games in the South American country.
Tanco earlier said they were “continuously looking at many more markets” worldwide.
This year, DigiPlus plans to spend up to P3 billion to support its expansion and improve facilities as its users continue to grow.
As of last month, the company’s registered users doubled to 40 million, with Filipinos flocking to online gaming platforms.
