Michelin-starred and world-renowned chef Gordon Ramsay will bring one of his most sought after restaurants to the Philippines, with Newport World Resorts going one up on its competitors by becoming his first host.

Newport World Resorts on Monday said the Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill Philippines would open this month, and that they would begin accepting reservations on Aug. 20.

The new restaurant will be located on the second floor of the Newport Grand Wing within Newport Resorts in Pasay City. It is slated to be one of the largest restaurants in Newport, occupying 400 square meters.

It is expected to seat up to 100 guests and target diners “from all over the region,” given its proximity to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

According to Newport, company chair Kevin Tan recently met with Ramsay, the famous head chef of the hit reality television show “Hell’s Kitchen,” in Macau to finalize the details of their partnership.

Newport has yet to release the full menu, although it has hinted at including the crowd favorite Beef Wellington, as well as seafood and “a delightful array of sides and desserts.”

Shared enthusiasm

Tan also expressed optimism that the entry of Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill would help boost the business.

“Having personally met Chef Ramsay at The Londoner in Macau, his larger-than-life personality and our shared enthusiasm in opening one of the most sought-after restaurants in the culinary world strengthens our position as the most multifaceted integrated resort in the country, leading the way in elevated dining experiences for all our guests,” Tan said in a statement.
