GSIS net income as of Sept hits P112B

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) saw its net income from January to September reach P112 billion as revenues exceeded the target for the period.

The state-run pension fund said on Tuesday the nine-month bottom line also surpassed the target by P35.5 billion. That means 45 percent more than the goal of P76.6 billion.

In the nine months to September, GSIS had aimed for revenues of P241.8 billion. By the end of the period, inflows reached P260 billion.

“The numbers reflect the current state of our financial health,” GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso said in a statement.

“Our P112 billion net income is a clear indicator of our consistent growth and stability,” Veloso added.

Resilient institution

In September alone, GSIS added P12 billion to the P100 billion that was recorded from January to August.

Also, profits for the first three quarters of 2025 already represented about 83 percent of the full-year net income of P135.7 billion last year.

Further, GSIS saw its assets grow to a total of P1.93 trillion, up by 5.7 percent or P103.83 billion from the level at the end of 2024.

“Our financial health is robust,” Veloso said. “Our focus is on building a resilient institution that delivers for its members, and these results confirm we are on the right track.”

GSIS touted having maintained fiscal discipline as expenses reached P148 billion or 10 percent less than the budget of P165 billion.

Also, administrative costs were kept at 2.5 percent, well below the 12-percent ceiling set under the GSIS Charter.

According to the pension fund, such a low ratio ensures that its resources are primarily allocated to serving its members.
