Ionic Inc.’s $6.8-M building expansion to begin in June

Listed electronics firm Ionics, Inc. will break ground in June for two new buildings worth $6.8 million at an economic zone in the province of Batangas, according to a senior executive.
Ionics Inc. vice president for business development Earl Lawrence Qua told reporters that the planned buildings, which would sit on its four-hectare property at the Light Industry & Science Park IV, would be used for general purposes, such as for warehousing.
“It can be used for internal purposes, but it could also be leased to another party,” he said on the sidelines of a CREATE MORE Act forum in Makati last week.
The executive said company revenues have grown by 20 percent annually over the past three years.
“We are working very hard to maintain the top line,” he said, noting that a more realistic growth projection for 2025 was at 10 percent.
The company is a leading manufacturer of printed circuit boards (PCBs), a component in modern electronics.
PCBs serve as the foundation for electronic circuits, providing mechanical support and electrical connections for various components.
These are widely used in consumer electronics, including smartphones, laptops and home appliances, enabling seamless functionality and connectivity.
They are also essential in industrial applications, such as automation systems and control panels, ensuring efficiency and reliability in manufacturing processes.
Qua said they have been producing high-quality PCBs for a wide range of companies, including Toshiba and Epson, among others.
