Mitsubishi, Intellicare ink health-care partnership

Health maintenance organization (HMO) Intellicare Group has partnered with conglomerate Mitsubishi Corporation to deliver health-care solutions for Japanese companies operating in the Philippines.

In a statement on Wednesday, Intellicare said the partnership would roll out comprehensive HMO coverage, third-party administration, clinic-based services and customized health-care programs tailored for Japanese firms with local operations.

For its part, Mitsubishi will contribute health-care expertise from its group, including hospital management systems, health-care supply chain solutions and medical cost analytics.

This will allow Mitsubishi to support Intellicare in developing a data-driven health-care management platform aimed at improving medical cost control, service integration and access to health-care services in the Philippines.

“Our partnership with Mitsubishi Corporation marks a new chapter of growth for Intellicare,” said Jeremy Matti, president of Asalus Corporation or Intellicare. “We also hope this expands our partnerships, allowing for more companies and lives to experience the true meaning of our healthcare delivery.”

Intellicare said the platform is intended to support employers in managing medical costs, coordinating care delivery and improving employees’ access to health-care services in the Philippines.

This tie-up follows Mitsubishi’s August 2025 investment in Fullerton Health, the parent company of Intellicare Group, to collaborate on data-driven health-care solutions and explore potential business collaborations.

Intellicare said the agreement, sealed through a memorandum of understanding, positions the group and its affiliate, Avega Managed Care Inc., as the only HMO in the Philippines with a partnership with the Japanese multinational conglomerate.

Apart from car manufacturing, Mitsubishi Corporation operates across multiple sectors globally, including health-care intelligence, environmental energy, materials solutions, mineral resources, urban development and infrastructure, mobility, food industry and power solutions.

“By leveraging our complementary strengths, we are dedicated to building a data-driven platform that enables companies to manage medical costs more effectively and intelligently,” said Yutaka Suzuki, general manager at Mitsubishi’s health-care department.
