Ovialand to build ‘mini malls’ at housing developments
Residential builder Ovialand Inc. is planning to build three “mini malls” at its Luzon housing developments next year, its top official said.
Its chief executive officer Pammy Olivares-Vital said allotting a commercial space not only provides better services and complements its Ovialand communities, but this would also provide a fresh revenue stream for the group.
“We’re planning to open three more. I think it’s two in San Pablo (Laguna) and one in Bulacan,” she told reporters.
“We’re looking at necessities for the communities … As a young company, we’re growing; we want to have a stronger base,” Olivares-Vital added.
These mini malls, she noted, will be two- or three-story buildings. They may house groceries, drugstores, educational and tutorial centers, or even a bank.
The official could not immediately provide details on funding when asked.
Ovialand currently has nine projects across Laguna, Batangas, Quezon and Bulacan, totaling about 5,000 units in the pipeline for its residential inventory.
Just late last month, the group inked a new partnership with Japanese firm Takara Leben Co. Ltd. for a project in Baliuag, Bulacan.
Takara Leben specializes in condominium development, real estate leasing and distribution.
Dubbed “Anara,” the 275-unit development represents Ovialand’s strategic expansion to the north of Metro Manila.
For this year, the company said it had built 770 houses. It expects to end 2025 with a profit of P880 million from a year ago’s P507 million.
