PAL 85th anniversary short film spotlights working student inspired to pursue aviation career

Press Release

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has launched its 85th Anniversary Film – an inspirational tribute to the people of PAL who continue to bring “Filipino care in action” to every journey, from the ground to the skies.

The short film, now live on PAL’s official YouTube channel, follows the story of Angeline De Guzman, a working student who was encouraged and inspired by PAL employees in the office where she worked. Through their support and “village of care,” she landed a career in aviation – a true story of how heartfelt care can truly inspire someone to go further. Her journey reflects how PAL’s 85-year legacy is built not only on aviation milestones but also on genuine kindness shown by the people behind every flight – a natural care that helps individuals discover their path, grow in their profession, and contribute to the Filipino spirit.

Extending this “Village of Care” to the next generation, the film also spotlights PAL’s Share The Care Award Program. In this meaningful initiative, PAL is supporting 85 top-tier graduating scholars from the National Aviation Academy of the Philippines (NAAP), the country’s only national professional institution for aviation. Through flight grants and priority career pathways, PAL empowers these future aviation leaders to reach greater heights. “This film reflects how PAL helps people move forward—not just through flights, but through opportunities,” said PAL Vice President for Marketing Alvin Miranda. “As we mark 85 years, we celebrate the journeys we have helped shape and the future we continue to build together.”
