Just months after cutting flights to China due to low demand, flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced that it would resume direct flights to Beijing starting March 30.
PAL president and chief operating officer Stanley Ng said in a statement on Monday that the resumption would “help boost tourism, enhance trade and deepen the friendly ties between the Filipino and Chinese people.”
“We are honored to serve the capital city of the People’s Republic of China, the diplomatic heart of the world’s second-largest economy, as our contribution to strengthening air links to the Chinese mainland,” Ng added.
PAL will deploy Airbus 321 aircraft for its thrice-weekly flights to Beijing, with a capacity of 168 to 199 seats.
