The government’s anti-red tape body is set to formally launch in the next two weeks a guidebook for government agencies and the private sector on key reforms aimed at enhancing the business environment in the country.

The Anti-Red Tape Authority (Arta) said the Philippine Ease of Doing Business (PH EODB) Reform Guidebook would be officially unveiled on May 21.

The document consolidates major reform initiatives, policy directives and best practices meant to streamline regulatory processes, reduce transaction costs and simplify business procedures nationwide.

Arta said the guidebook would provide a clear road map for national government agencies and local government units to cut bureaucratic inefficiencies and align the country’s reforms with international benchmarks.

It also outlines the government’s strategic initiatives to improve regulatory efficiency by simplifying procedures, reducing processing times and lowering the cost of starting, managing and closing a business, according to Arta.

Arta Secretary Ernesto Perez highlighted the importance of the guidebook in helping the Philippines remain competitive as an investment destination, noting that clearer, more consistent regulations were key to attracting investors.

“In an era of global competition where investors weigh multiple destinations before choosing where to do business, we must ensure that the Philippines stands out as a country of choice in view of the clarity, consistency and competence of regulations,” Perez said in a statement.
