PH firms find success in Middle East trade mission

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on Friday said local exporters have secured $27.28 million in export sales during a recent trade mission to the Middle East.
The DTI said the trade mission, held from February 7 to 21, aimed to expand market opportunities and strengthen partnerships for Philippine agricultural, fisheries and personal care exports in key markets such as Doha, Amman, Riyadh and Dubai.
“The success we have seen in the business mission reflects the growing global recognition of the quality and competitiveness of Philippine agrifishery and consumer products,” Trade Secretary Cristina Roque said in a statement.
“As we continue to forge stronger connections with key markets in this region, we are laying the groundwork for sustained growth and long-term success for our exporters, ensuring that our local export goods remain in high demand worldwide,” she added.
During the trade mission, the DTI said Filipino exporters engaged with buyers, distributors, and industry leaders to explore potential collaborations and new business opportunities.
The Philippine delegation also participated in Gulfood 2025, one of the world’s largest food and beverage trade exhibitions.
The DTI said the event led to discussions on market entry and regulatory compliance with key agencies, such as the Qatar Ministry of Public Health and the Dubai Municipality.
