Shopee partner opens largest sorting facility in Laguna
The logistics partner of ecommerce giant Shopee formally launched its largest sorting facility in the country, marking its first automated center capable of processing 3 million parcels daily.
SPX Express unveiled its 25,000-square meter (sqm) facility located in Calamba, Laguna, one of its two sorting centers operational in the Philippines.
“Effective delivery solutions serve as a bridge between sellers and buyers. We are focused on sharpening the excellence of our operational services in order to ensure seamless logistics and an overall enhanced shopping experience for Filipinos,” SPX Express head Martin Yu said in a statement.
“More than anything else, our goal is to enable more citizens to enjoy the benefits of online shopping and ultimately, to aid in their participation in the country’s growing digital economy,” he added.
The new facility allows the company to sort parcels to over 300 destinations in the country, a feat that was previously not possible through manual sorting.
It added that sorting efficiency has also increased by 60 percent, with the lead time reduced by around two hours.
SPX Express said that it was also helping micro, small and medium enterprises scale their businesses through its network of hubs and service points across the country.
To date, SPX Express has more than 300 distribution hubs nationwide.
Further, the logistics company said that its advanced technology ensures a smooth and reliable process for both sellers and buyers, thus helping businesses build a positive reputation in the market.
