SM Iloilo upgrade seen finished by early 2026
Property titan SM Prime Holdings Inc. seeks to maintain its retail dominance in fast-growing regions, with a P2.3-billion redevelopment of SM Iloilo expected to be completed by early next year.
In a disclosure on Tuesday, the company said the project includes the addition of more than 7,900 square meters of gross leasable area for the mall, alongside upgraded interiors, motion sensor escalators and a multilevel car park.
SM Prime will also launch new outlets, such as Game Park, Fantasy World, Decathlon, TGI Friday’s and Chili’s. Launched in 1999, the mall was the eighth SM Supermall built by the Sy-led real estate developer.
SM Prime has also allocated an additional 23,670 square meters for a National University (NU) campus within the complex. Targeted for commercial operations by 2027, the NU is seen to provide stronger foot traffic for the mall.
