Top PH employers bared

For the second time in three years, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) topped the list of Best Employers 2026 compiled by the Philippine Daily Inquirer, in partnership with Statista, the world’s leading data and business intelligence portal.

BFP, listed in the government services category, also topped the Philippines’ Best Employers 2024 compilation.

In the Philippines’ Best Employers 2026 list, BFP is followed by Insular Life, an insurance company.

Global technology giants Google and Microsoft, both listed in the IT (information technology), software and services, were fifth and sixth in the rankings.

Also in the Top 10 are JP Morgan Chase, a banking and financial services company; Uratex Philippines, engineering and manufacturing; Armed Forces of the Philippines, government services; Capital One Philippines Support Services, business services and supplies; VST ECS, IT, internet and software services; and Far Eastern University, education.

Google and JP Morgan Chase were also in the Top 10 Best Employers 2025 list.

Launched in 2022, the annual Best Employers list, as compiled by the Inquirer and the Germany-based market research firm Statista, features a total of 300 companies and government agencies ranked according to their employees’ perception of their performance as employers.

Unlike many other employer recognition programs that focus solely on private corporations, the Inquirer–Statista Best Employers list recognizes a wide range of organizations—including government agencies, public institutions and nontraditional workplaces. This broad scope recognizes the fact that excellence in employment practices can thrive beyond the corporate sector.

To choose the top employers, thousands of employees are asked to rate their employers. Respondents are invited to either rate their own company or rate other companies within their own industry that they could confidently recommend to friends or family.

The survey seeks to find out from the employees themselves if a company lives up to the public persona it cultivates.

It is premised on the belief that what kind of employer a company is should be as important as the bottom line, which, after all, owes much to an inspired, motivated, dedicated and loyal human resource.

How a company treats its people is a reflection of its commitment to the good of the Filipino community, in general, and the country and the planet, as a whole. The annual project recognizes that employees are in the best position to know if their employers abide by the duties and responsibilities of good corporate citizenship.

The program also stands out for its credibility and reach. Powered by the Philippine Daily Inquirer, one of the country’s most trusted media brands, it guarantees strong visibility and public trust in the recognition it confers.

The annual Philippines’ Best Employers project seeks to find out how well employers are perceived by their own people. It gives employees the chance to rate the companies they work for based on their personal experiences.

This focus on the employees’ opinions and beliefs makes the annual undertaking stand out, as it provides a definitive list of who really are the best employers, based on their own people’s assessment, among the thousands of companies in the Philippines that have at least 250 employees.

This year’s ranking covers 300 top employers across 26 industries, allowing organizations to benchmark themselves among peers and across sectors. The initiative is further strengthened by “What Works at Work”, an annual learning summit that builds on the Best Employers study by bringing together experts, human resource leaders and organizations to exchange insights and share effective workplace practices.

Evaluation

Tens of thousands of evaluations, the opinions of thousands of employees and scores for hundreds of companies are taken into account. Employees are asked to rate their willingness to recommend directly their own employer to friends and family. Responses are analyzed on a scale from 0 to 10, with 0 meaning “I wouldn’t recommend my employer under any circumstances” and 10 meaning “I would definitely recommend my employer.”

Statista preresearches an initial list of over 2,000 eligible employers via industry lists, employer databases and desk research. A registration form is also published prior to the survey that allows companies to register for the employee survey.
