Veco Paper chief named FFCCCII president
The Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) named industrialist Victor Lim as its new president.
Lim was elected following a three-day biennial national convention and three rounds of voting by 800 delegates representing 170 Filipino Chinese business chambers and organizations, the FFCCCII said in a statement.
Lim, president and CEO of Veco Paper Corp., a major paper manufacturer in the country, will replace Cecilio Pedro, who helped the influential business group navigate the pandemic-induced economic slump.
Pedro is the president and CEO of Lamoiyan Corp., the company behind the popular “Hapee” toothpaste brand.
“The transition marks a new chapter for the 71-year-old federation, the Philippines’ largest coalition of Filipino Chinese entrepreneurs and philanthropists,” FFCCCII said.
The business group said Lim will bring with him four decades of executive experience across manufacturing, trade and education advocacy.
Lim is also the president and CEO of Everwealth Traders and Development Corp.
He previously held a position in the FFCCCII as an executive vice president. But his experience as an industry leader did not stop there.
Lim also served as president of the Philippine Stationeries Association, Alliance of Paper Traders Association, Philippine School Pads and Notebooks Manufacturers Association.
He was also an adviser for the Philippine Paper Industry Council.
A philanthropist and an education advocate, Lim held positions at his alma mater St. Stephen’s High School.
He graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
