Vertiv opens training hub in PH

American infrastructure and data center firm Vertiv on Wednesday unveiled a new training facility in the country, marking a key step in its local expansion and providing a platform to train engineers and IT professionals.
Known as Vertiv Academy, the 337.62-square meter facility at the SM Mega Tower in Mandaluyong will serve as the company’s main training hub for the Asia region.
“The Vertiv Academy reflects our long-term commitment to developing world-class engineering talent, not just to support our growth but to help shape the future of digital infrastructure across the region,” Vertiv Asia president and general manager Paul Churchill said in a statement.
Launchpad for industry professionals
Vertiv Asia vice president Andre Whall said they see the training facility as a launchpad for the next generation of industry professionals.
“From in-depth product simulations to globally recognized certifications, we’re enabling engineers to meet the evolving demands of data centers, telecom networks, and enterprise IT,” he said.
The company also launched an experience center, described as an interactive, hands-on showroom about the company’s latest technology.
In May 2024, the company opened its new 8,000-square-foot office in Mandaluyong, which now houses over 1,200 employees.
In addition to the Mandaluyong site, Vertiv also maintains offices in Davao and Cebu.
Vertiv’s biggest clients are telecommunication firms, hyperscalers and business process outsourcing companies.
The New York Stock Exchange-listed firm reported $6.9 billion in revenues in 2024.
