Vivant allocates P10B for water projects

Vivant Corp. is investing about P10 billion through 2030 to undertake various water access and wastewater treatment projects.

”As we move toward 2030, our efforts in energy and water remain aligned with the country’s long-term needs,” Vivant CEO Arlo Sarmiento said in a disclosure.

Sarmiento said the listed firm was “identifying opportunities” to deepen its presence in the country’s water sector.

”If conditions align and projects proceed as anticipated, we are looking at allocating around P10 billion over the next six years for investments in water infrastructure, spanning bulk water supply, wastewater treatment and distribution in areas where access remains constrained,” he said during Vivant’s annual stockholders’ meeting held last week.

Exploring other opportunities

Vivant Water president Jess Anthony Garcia said the company was exploring other opportunities within Cebu as the province remained a priority given its “deep presence and familiarity.”

”We are actively exploring areas within Cebu where water access remains limited or service quality can be improved,” Garcia said.
