Bea to Lolit after public apology: I’m glad there’s accountability
All is well now between actress Bea Alonzo and show biz columnist-talent manager Lolit Solis, after the latter publicly apologized for criticizing the actress in a number of write-ups in the past.“I was never angry with her. It’s just that she is close to someone I don’t like. I have long said that when I get the chance to see her personally, I will definitely say sorry,” said Lolit.
The long-awaited moment between Lolit and Bea happened during the birthday celebration of Beautederm CEO Rei Anicoche-Tan on Saturday night.
As for Bea, she said she never expected to see Lolit at the party, but added that she has already accepted the veteran columnist’s apology. “Sino ba naman ako? I’m only human. It means a lot to me that there’s accountability [for the action committed]. I never said anything against her, because, apart from tonight, I’ve never met her pers onally in the 22 years that I’ve been working as an actress,” she told Inquirer Entertainment. Lolit also said she has been hearing a lot of good comments about Bea, especially from those who have worked with her in the past. “Even Lorna Tolentino and Christopher de Leon would tell me that Bea is a kind person. That’s why I asked myself, ‘Why did I do this to her when we’ve never had any quarrels in the past?’”
‘Still processing’
Bea admitted that she still doesn’t know what to make of the incident at the party. “If I’m going to be honest with you, I’m still processing what happened. It was a surprise to me and it happened with all of you (media personalities) around. This is why I still don’t know what to say,” she explained. “I wish her good health more than anything.”
“As of now, I’m congratulating Bea because I know she is going to get married soon,” said Lolit about the bride of actor Dominic Roque.
Meanwhile, Bea admitted that she is not able to give enough time for the preparation of the wedding ceremony. “Ideally, I should be planning ahead, but because I’m currently finishing a TV series, taping for my vlog and tending to my other businesses, I cannot meet up with the team that’s helping me with the wedding as often as I should. But we already have a lot of suppliers. We’ve been getting a lot of support. We’ll get to that eventually.” INQ
