Ben&Ben to release new single ‘Comets’ tomorrow
Fans of Ben&Ben have something to cheer about. The group is slated to release “Comets,” its first official single this year.
Written by Paolo and Miguel Benjamin, the single tackles the fleeting nature of a love lost. It also marks the first time that Ben&Ben is coproducing a song with producer Petra Sihombing, whose work the band got to know in a short span of time.
Sihombing is an Indonesian singer, songwriter and instrumentalist. He is also known for his work as a music producer, collaborating with musicians hailing from Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
‘Weighty 10 percent’“He flew in to help us bring the song to the next level, with his own additions in both the arrangement and postproduction of the track,” shared the nine-piece collective. “The band probably had about 90 percent of the song down, but it was Petra’s very weighty 10 percent that really helped make the song what it is now.”
The teaser of “Comets” is making the rounds on several digital billboards across Metro Manila.
“We have performed ‘Comets’ a few times since 2021, but haven’t officially released it yet. The teasers are meant to slowly raise the curtain and give our keen listeners what they’ve been waiting for,” Ben&Ben said.
The cover art “encapsulates the essence of the song with how it likens people in our lives to these bright, beautiful yet fleeting flashes of light. This was conceptualized as a group effort by our excellent team of creatives.”
“Comets” will be released on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment this Friday.
